WHAT IS PATERNITY DNA TESTING?

Paternity DNA testing is a scientific method used to determine the biological relationship between a father and a child. It involves analyzing specific regions of their DNA to check for shared genetic markers. By comparing the DNA profiles of the alleged father and child, the test can provide a high probability of paternity. This testing is accurate, reliable, and often used for legal purposes, establishing parental rights, and offering peace of mind in matters of family relationships.

I WANT MY RESULTS TO BE ACCURATE. CAN I DO A BLOOD DNA TEST INSTEAD?

DNA is the same in every cell of the human body making the accuracy of a saliva collection with buccal swab just as accurate as a blood sample. Buccal swabs are non-invasive and have become a far easier and more comfortable method to collect DNA than blood samples. With a buccal swab, there are no needles required making all parties, including children, feel more comfortable. Laboratories actually prefer buccal swabs over blood samples, since the process for extracting DNA from a buccal swab is easier and faster.

DOES THE MOTHER HAVE TO BE INCLUDED IN A PATERNITY DNA TEST?

DNA tests already provide 99.9% accuracy, however; including the biological mother simply strengthens the DNA test results probabilities. Thanks to the extended markers, it is not required, but strongly recommended for Paternity DNA testing and even for siblingship, grandparentage and other family relationship DNA tests.

THE ALLEGED FATHER IS DECEASED. CAN I STILL DO A PATERNITY DNA TEST?

We are able to perform a Paternity DNA test by obtaining the blood card from the medical examiner or mortuary. With a deceased, a legal DNA test is required and we provide the additional paperwork and shipping supplies to the medical examiner so they may ship the blood card directly to our laboratory. The other parties are collected by 99DNA Testing’s collectors by a buccal swab. The next of kin on the birth certificate or family member with power of attorney for the deceased will need to provide 99DNA Test the permission to conduct the DNA test by completing a consent form and providing a valid form of identification. If the blood card is not available, we offer additional family relationship DNA tests include a grandparentage, aunt/uncle or siblinship DNA tests.

CAN I TEST MORE THAN ONE ALLEGED FATHER?

99DNA Testing can work with almost any unique situation. We offer affordable DNA testing prices and adding an additional alleged father or an additional child is just a simple add-on fee to the DNA testing cost. To add an additional alleged father or an additional child, it is $85.00 additional fee.

CAN I SCHEDULE SEPARATE APPOINTMENTS FOR THE CHILD AND ALLEGED FATHER?

99DNA Testing can provide separate appointment times and locations for the same DNA case. We also offer collection sites nationwide if the alleged father or the child is out-of-state for a small additional fee. First, we set up your case number and track all parties being tested at different times with this unique case number. Specimens can also be sent at separate times; however, to store specimens until the other party is tested, there is an additional fee. Contact us for more information.

IF THE ALLEGED FATHER IS REFUSING TO GET TESTED, CAN I TEST A SISTER, MOTHER OR OTHER RELATIVE?

Yes, we offer additional family relationship DNA tests like an aunt/uncle DNA test, siblinship, grandparentage test and others in order to obtain accurate results.

IF I GET AN INFORMATIONAL DNA TEST, CAN I NOTARIZE THE RESULTS LATER TO USE IN COURT?

Unfortunately not. We recommend that if you anticipate needing the results for legal reasons in the future, to obtain a legal DNA test from the start. Otherwise, you will need to go back and obtain a second DNA test at full price. It is more cost-effective to obtain a legal DNA test that is court-admissible for most legal reasons.

WHAT IF THE ALLEGED FATHER OR CHILD IS OUT-OF-STATE BUT I AM IN FLORIDA?

99DNA Testing is not limited to Central Florida. We are part of a network of over 5,000 facilities nationwide allowing us to manage and execute your DNA testing case regardless if one, two, or all parties are out-of-state. In order to provide the most accurate quote for your DNA test and to find you the nearest location to you, we will only require your residential zip code. Contact us for more information!

IS PATERNITY DNA TESTING ACCURATE?

Paternity DNA testing is an incredibly accurate and reliable method when conducted by a reputable and accredited facility using industry-standard practices. The accuracy of the test results is crucial in establishing the biological relationship between a father and a child. The DNA analysis focuses on specific regions of the genetic material, known as DNA markers or loci, that exhibit natural variations among individuals. By comparing these markers between the alleged father and the child, a high degree of accuracy can be achieved in determining paternity.

We utilize state-of-the-art technology and employ experienced laboratory technicians who follow strict protocols to ensure accurate and dependable results. We understand the importance of accuracy in paternity testing, especially in legal cases or situations involving sensitive family matters. Our commitment to quality and precision ensures that you can trust the results provided by our testing services.

CAN A PATERNITY DNA TEST BE DONE BEFORE A BABY IS BORN?

Yes, we provide a noninvasive prenatal DNA test that enables paternity testing before the baby is born. This advanced testing method eliminates the need for invasive procedures that might pose risks to the mother or the fetus. Instead, we collect a blood sample from the pregnant mother and a buccal swab (saliva sample) from the alleged father.

Our noninvasive prenatal DNA test utilizes the latest technology to analyze the fetal DNA present in the mother’s bloodstream. By comparing the genetic markers of the alleged father with the fetal DNA, we can determine paternity with a high degree of accuracy. This test can be performed as early as the 9th week of pregnancy, providing early answers and reassurance for expecting parents.
